Research Professional, ULaval
Vahideh Akbari holds a Ph.D. in Wood and Bio-Based Materials Engineering from Université Laval. Her doctoral research was conducted within the NSERC-Canlak Industrial Research Chair in Interior Wood Finishing and focused on developing innovative wood-hardening solutions.
Prior to her Ph.D., she worked as a research assistant at the Center of Excellence in Electrochemistry at the University of Tehran, where she contributed to the development of epoxy-based nanocomposites.
She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Polymer Engineering from institutions in Iran. She also completed a six-month research internship in France, where she focused on the flame retardancy of biopolymers.
She has authored 17 publications in peer-reviewed journals and has presented her work at numerous national and international conferences. Her areas of expertise include polymer chemistry, composite and nanocomposite formulation, and wood modification.
In 2025, she joined Corepan-Bois as a research professional, where she aims to integrate her knowledge toward the valorization of wood products, with a focus on bio-based adhesives and surface coatings for wood-based composite panels.
