THIFFAULT, Évelyne Eng.f., Ph.D.

Associate Professor, ULaval
Associate Professor in the Department of Wood and Forest Sciences, Université Laval
Evelyne Thiffault is a regular researcher at the Renewable Materials Research Centre (CRMR) at Université Laval and the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Operationalization of Sustainable Development (CIRODD), the first strategic group on sustainable development in Quebec. She is also a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs forestiers du Québec (OIFQ) and the Scientific Advisory Committee of the German Biomass Research Center (Deutsches Biomasseforschungszentrum – DBFZ).
Pr. Thiffault holds and leads several research grants, including one of the main research projects at CRMR titled 'Agile Forestry in the Face of Climate Change: From Ecosystems to Markets.' This project receives $8.2 million in funding from the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI), the government of Quebec, and numerous partners to study the use of the forest-products-market system to mitigate the rise in atmospheric carbon dioxide and, at the same time, increase the market share of forest products. As a specialist in forest carbon and related fields, she will make a unique contribution to Corepan-Bois by guiding research on carbon flows in the wood-based composite panel industry and the contribution of panel products to carbon sequestration.
