Senior Researcher, FPInnovations
Senior Researcher - Innovative Building Materials at FPInnovations
Fabrice Roussière holds a bachelor's degree in chemistry, a master's degree in physico-chemistry of materials, and a Ph.D. in engineering sciences. His doctoral project focused on reinforcing polymer matrices with natural fibers. He also completed postdoctoral internships, first at the Laboratory of Paper Process Engineering (LGP2) at the National Polytechnic Institute of Grenoble in France (2010 to 2011) and then at the Research Center on Lignocellulosic Materials at the University of Quebec at Trois-Rivières in Canada (2012 to 2014). His research centered on developing fibrous wallpaper and packaging materials, including those based on microfibrillated cellulose.
Mr. Roussière joined FPInnovations in 2015 to develop non-woven materials for thermal and acoustic insulation use in the construction industry. Since then, his research areas have expanded to include wood-based composite panels such as MDF, OSB, and particleboard, focusing on improving their performance through process optimization, adding microfibrillated cellulose, and testing alternative adhesives.
