Michaud, Cyril

Cyril Michaud holds a bachelor's degree (2000) and a master's degree in applied environmental economics from the Université de Bordeaux (2002).

He began his career in Abitibi-Témiscamingue in the planning and environment department of the Union des producteurs agricoles. He then worked as an economist in private consulting on various mandates in the fields of agricultural activity, energy and natural resources, before returning to the Union des producteurs agricoles in the agricultural research and policy department. 

Prior to joining the CIFQ, Mr. Michaud held the position of economic regulation specialist and project manager at the Régie de l'énergie du Québec, where he worked on several rate cases in the electricity and natural gas sectors. He also specialized in energy transition issues. 

In the course of his career, Mr. Michaud has acquired a solid understanding of the economic issues related to decarbonization and the energy transition, as well as adaptation to climate change.
