CLOUTIER, Alain Eng., Ph.D.

Alain Cloutier holds a bachelor's degree in forest engineering and a Ph.D. in wood science. He is a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ), The Society of Wood Science and Technology (SWST), as well as the International Academy of Wood Science (IAWS).

As an expert in wood-based composite panels, he serves as the principal researcher for the Research Consortium. He will be able to guide research efforts, leveraging his knowledge of the subject and supervising master's and doctoral theses as director or co-director. His extensive management experience as the director of the Department of Wood and Forest Sciences (2017 to 2021), director of the Renewable Materials Research Centre (2002 to 2017), and holder of the NSERC Strategic Network ForValueNet (2008 to 2013) will also be utilized, as he will be responsible for overseeing the team engaged in this initiative and the overall management of the Consortium.
